Balochistan cup: Chaman, Turbat through to semis

Defeat Harnai 6-0 and Kharan 4-2 respectively

KARACHI: Chaman and Turbat booked their places in the 2016 Balochistan Football Cup final-four by winning their respective quarter-final matches at the Ayub Stadium in Quetta yesterday.

Chaman crushed Harnai 6-0, thanks to Mohammad Tahir’s hat-trick, while Turbat overcame Kharan 4-2 in what was a closer affair than what the scoreline suggests.

Man-of-the-match Musadiq Sabir scored twice for Turbat, whereas Musa Amjad and Shabeer Taj contributed a goal each to their team’s cause.

For Kharan, Mohammad Ilyas and Muhamad Zahoor found the net once each.

In today’s quarter-finals, Loralai will take on Khuzdar, while Quetta will face Jaffarabad.

This year’s Balochistan Cup featured 32 teams from all six divisions of the province.
