At crosshairs: PML-N announces gathering on August 7
Party will hold rally to show PTI where they stand
SWABI:
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa chapter has announced its decision to hold a gathering in the provincial capital to discuss the overall performance of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-led government.
The gathering will be held on August 7, the same day when PTI Chairperson Imran Khan will be launching a protest to press for an enquiry into the Panama Leaks. This was decided in a meeting in Swabi. The moot was attended by PML-N District General Secretary Haji Dildar Khan, MPA Haji Muhammad Sheraz Khan, provincial deputy president Haji Sajjad Khan and other party members.
Speaking on the occasion, Adviser to the Prime Minister Amir Muqam said the people of K-P want the provincial government to take steps to develop the province.
“[We want to give a] message to PTI from K-P’s people,” he said. “The people don’t believe in sit-ins anymore.”
He added a majority of K-P residents are disenchanted by the politics of agitation.
“The August 7 protest to address Panama Leaks will not be successful,” he said. “The people have realised his ambitions and goals. PTI will lose in 2018 general elections just like it lost the recent elections in Azad Kashmir. Imran Khan must not waste his time and utilise it to solve the problems of people.”
He said, “PML-N will hold a rally on August 3, in which millions of people are likely to participate, it will show PTI where they stand. I came into politics just to help people and to work for the progress and development of the nation.”
He added Swabi is his home and as soon as the funds will be released from federal government, many development projects will be initiated in the region. Muqam urged people to participate in the rally and put all conspiracies against democracy to rest.
