LAHORE: The National Highways and Motorway Police (NH&MP) observed Youm-i-Shuhada-i-Police on Thursday to honour the sacrifices rendered by police officers in the line of duty. Prayer ceremonies and vigils were arranged at NHMP Zonal Headquarters in Lahore and various locations on national highways. DIG Mirza Faran Baig, SSP Masroor Alam Kolachi, several other NH&MP officers and the families of those who had died on duty attended the events. “The martyrdom of brave cops lightens up the society,” Baig said at a ceremony held to honour the slain police officials. The DIG laid a floral wreath at the Shuhada Memorial.
