Amin took full advantage of the climate and struck a number of birdies to move ahead of the chasing pack. He is followed in second place by Lahore Gymkhana’s Shafiq Masih, who shot a five-under-par 67, while Muhammad Tahir rounded up the top three, thanks to his four-under-par 68.
“The weather was favourable and I used it perfectly to take the big lead,” Amin told The Express Tribune. “This wide margin will help me during the next three day.”

Defending champion Muhammad Munir was able to card a disappointing two-under-par 70 to finish day one in a lowly ninth place, whereas former national number one Shabbir Iqbal’s problems ran even deeper as he managed just a par score 72 to end at 16th spot.
