According to reports, 32-year-old Muhammad Sohail went to his in-laws in New Karachi to bring his wife, Darakhshan, back home who had left after a family dispute.

Man pardons wife ‘for trying to kill him’ by maiming his genitalia
The victim’s wife, on the other hand, has denied allegations of murder against her, claiming her husband committed suicide as he was mentally ill. The couple had been married for about 15 years.
Last month, a woman was released from custody in Okara after her husband pardoned her during a court hearing for attempting to kill him by maiming his genitalia. The FIR registered in the matter stated that 32-year-old Muawia Ashiq, prayer leader at Jamia Masjid on Akbar Road, was asleep when his wife, Umme Habiba, attacked him, maiming his genitalia.
During interrogation, the suspect said that she had done so to punish him for ignoring her rights as a wife. She said her husband had been spending most of his time at the mosque. The woman had pretended to be asleep when her husband had returned home and when he fell asleep she had attacked him.
