After Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf submitted a first of its kind resolution in the Punjab Assembly calling for a ban on famous Japanese anime series Doraemon, Twitteratis have found it's newest target.

The Japanese manga series which is dubbed in Hindi for viewers in Pakistan and India, and revolves around a robotic cat named Doraemon, has been deemed inappropriate by PTI legislator, Malik Taimoor Masood.

The announcement has created a full on war on Twitter under the hashtag #PTIvsDoraemon, and Pakistanis are trying to figure out what PTI has against anime.

Paki | 8 years ago | Reply excuse plis, aint issues like power shortage, poverty, hunger, kids kidnappin in lahore to be solved by government?(oh I understand, people of pakistan have become almost desperate when it comes to expecting anythin from their gov, so they want everythin to be done by pti?) PTI is doing things assigned to them at its best

MJ | 8 years ago | Reply I grew up watching Tom & Jerry, Bugs Bunny & Wiley E Coyote and Road Runner etc. and never smacked anyone in the head with a hammer or a rolling pin or dropped an anvil on anybody's foot. PTI should go back fixing corruption, hunger and power issues and leave child psychology to experts and parents. On the other hand However there are some politicians in Pakistan that deserve these types of punishment from our masses.

Zarmeen | 8 years ago | Reply I see my 10 years old sister learning hindi more efficiently than urdu, she can't speak even simplest urdu words but is master in hard hindi words. Seeing your kids/siblings growing up like this is killing. Kidos to whoever decided to step forward against something that's wasting our children's hippocampus' space by making them grasp hindi words at that age of their lives when they learn things, make them their habits and never forget.

Anum | 8 years ago | Reply @irony Parents with kids do end up watching cartoons hence they know the plots. This is called screening something properly and is responsible parenting. As a parent I agree with this. Content for kids is violent and useless these days. At least in our day we saw cartoons that had a lesson in it even if good v evil. What is good and evil in Tom and Jerry even?

Shabbir Afridi | 8 years ago | Reply I have three majors issues with this Doraemon cartoon. 1- Kids pick up Hindi words quicker than a hen picking worms. My kid to this day says "baba kia main Jurassic park movie dekh paoon ga?" Figure the problem out 2- the characters randomly pick fights with each other, show a talkative nature, try to learn new ways of hiding things from parents and teachers and keep loitering around in the streets after useless "gadgets" achieving what? Nothing!! absolutely nothing 3- the whole plot has no lesson towards the end, episode by episode the characters keep opening their horrendous mouths with weird expressions. Non informative, non educational plot that only teaches the kids to keep talking all day without listening, or learning habits of pausing when someone else is talking. Rethink your priorities and act educated. Consider everything important even if its a brief encounter with the local shopkeeper!! Children notice everything.

Insider | 8 years ago | Reply To all the atheists, seculars and liberals, Doraemon does have some degree of violence in addition to healthy attitude towards Science gadgets. The degree and nature of violence can be debated, but some children may have the tendency to adapt the villain characters instead of the positive ones.

Also why PTI submitted this resolution in Punjab when they are in power in KP. Why PTI wants to create anarchy in Punjab only?. People are getting tired from the politics of dharna and banning.
