A video of a schoolteacher beating up minor students in Chitral, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) has gone viral on the internet.

The 96 second-video, which was recorded through a mobile phone camera, shows a person beating and running after the minors with a stick in his hand.

The teacher did not stop beating the children even when they started crying and running for help.

According to Express News, police have arrested the teacher, and a case has been registered in accordance with the K-P Child Protection and Welfare Act 2010.

A bill was also passed in the National Assembly in 2013 for protecting the dignity of children.

Any person involved in inflicting harsh punishment on children will have to serve up to one year imprisonment and pay Rs50,000 as a fine, the bill states.

delhuss | 7 years ago | Reply Bullied children will only obey out of fear. We are taught to respect our elders and not ask questions. This is a recipe for disaster. Children should be encouraged to speak up and ask questions in a supportive and loving environment otherwise they become meek and obedient servants, like the children of Nazi Germany, and will obey whatever orders they are given. School should be a place of learning with encouraging support from the teachers, not a place of fear and intimidation. This man is a bully and not fit to call himself a teacher. He needs educating himself to be a better human being.
