KARACHI: Twenty-one suspects were taken into custody on Tuesday during the ongoing targeted raids in different parts of the metropolis by the Rangers and police.

Four suspects were taken into custody during a targeted raid conducted by the Rangers at alKaram Square in Liaquatabad. During the operation, the entire locality was cordoned off and no one was allowed to go in or out. Rangers also searched the house of an arrested suspect, Khalid. A huge cache of weapons was also recovered during the raid. However, Rangers officials did not release any official statement regarding the raid and arrests.

The police also conducted targeted raids in Preedy and Saddar areas. They detained 15 suspects and also seized weapons from them.

Meanwhile, two more suspects were apprehended during a raid conducted by the Garden police. The suspects were identified as Habib Malik and Irfan Iqbal.

City division SP Shahla Qureshi said that both the suspects were absconders in criminal cases registered against them at the Garden police station.
