It is unfortunate that we are still fighting diseases like polio and malaria

KARACHI: An integrated system is required between programmes running under the health department to improve performance and results, said provincial health minister Dr Sikandar Mandhro.

He added that people have huge expectations from the new ministers and it is their responsibility to provide facilities to the poor and needy patients.

He said that no excuses will be accepted in the department regarding lack of resources, funds or staff. "The Sindh government has allocated a huge amount in the budget for health," said Dr Mandhro. "All we need now is to improve the management." He added that it is unfortunate that we are still fighting diseases like polio and malaria, which have already been eradicated even from third-world countries.
