ISLAMABAD:
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has approved the promotion of several top bureaucrats from BPS-21 to BPS-22. The BPS-22 grade is the highest rank of gazetted officers.
A high-powered promotion committee meeting held under the chair of PM Nawaz granted the promotions on Monday. All these officials were already on acting charge in BPS-22 and have been given regular promotions. Promotions of other bureaucrats from different services groups are also expected.

Insider told The Express Tribune the promoted officials included National Highway Authority Chairman Shahid Tarar, Commerce Secretary Azmat Ranjha, Information Technology Secretary Rizwan Bashir, Water and Power Secretary Younas Dhaga and Privatisation Secretary Ahmad Nawaz Sukhera.
