According to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) in Pakistan, the film has technically not been banned — rather, it is awaiting a final decision. “The initial five-member-panel could not reach a unanimous decision regarding the fate of the film and neither did they recommend the movie to be presented to the full board,” CBFC Chairman Mobashir Hasan told The Express Tribune in a telephone conversation. As a result, the case has been forwarded to the Ministry of Information, Broadcasting and Heritage for further guidance in the matter.
“The ministry will decide the fate of the film. Technically the film is not banned but is not being exhibited in the cinemas,” Hasan added.
The plot revolves around a manhunt in which Indian top batsman goes missing in the Middle East. Two investigative officers played by John Abraham and Dhawan team up to find the missing sportsman and his kidnapper.
