ISLAMABAD: Residents of a cooperative housing society have moved the court accusing the management of corruption and multiple violations of the prescribed layout plan.

The residents of Accounts Group Officers Cooperative Housing Society have petitioned the sessions’ court for registration of a criminal case against the management committee of the society.

In a petition submitted to additional district and sessions judge Zeba Chaudhry, said the society’s management had illegally converted amenity sites into residential and commercial plots and had sold them on.

“The actual LOP (layout plan) as submitted to the Capital Development Authority (CDA) provided the total residential plots numbering 573 and commercial plots totalling 20. The management committee dishonestly increased the number of residential plots to more than 610 and commercial plots to 105,” the petition said.

The petitioners said that the management also sold a plot which had been reserved for a mosque in the initial layout plan.

The petitioners submitted an application to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to investigate and initiate action against management in December of 2015.

The petitioners had listed the FIA director general and FIA Inspector Asghar Baloch, who is investigation officer for the case, as respondents and have prayed the court to direct the FIA to register a case against the management committee of the society.

The court has summoned the investigation officer along with the case record on September 2.
