BANNU: The western parts of the province will benefit the most from western route of CPEC. This was said by Federal Minister for Housing and Works Akram Khan Durrani.

Addressing a ceremony to inaugurate a gas extension programme in Amandi union council in Bannu, Durrani said, the areas of Frontier Region Bannu have enormous natural resources.

“We have already persuaded companies from China to invest to improve the economic situations in the area,” he added. National Assembly member, Azam Khan Durrani, Bannu district naib nazim, Pir Munir Shah, and other leaders also participated in the ceremony.

Assurances

Durrani assured that all conspiracies to weaken the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor will soon be nipped in the bud as Pakistan Army has assumed responsibility of CPEC project and soon Pakistan will become an Asian Tiger in the next decade.

He added the ruling coalition in K-P has tried to hamper the development of Bannu. According to Durrani, the federal government has also assured them that western areas will not be deprived of benefits under CPEC.

“As a result, we will see a real change in Bannu in coming months as major projects announced by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will start in the district,” he added.
