HYDERABAD: A man was killed and his wife injured in an alleged incident of 'honour' killing in a village of Sanghar district on Saturday.

The killers broke into the couple's house in village Chak number three, near Sanghar, around 3am and killed Shahzad Ali, who is said to be around 30-years-old and a barber by profession, the police said. Ali's wife, Lubna Jat, was injured in the assault.

The couple had allegedly married around three months ago without the consent of Jat's parents.

"I heard gunshots and when I hurried to my son's room, I found him dead," said Ali's father, Sardar Ali.

Three suspects have been detained, although the aggrieved family has yet to lodge an FIR, said SHO Wajid, adding that Jat identified at least one of the three suspects who killed her husband.
