Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif has reiterated Pakistan Army’s resolve in breaking down the nexus between terrorism and corruption.

According to the military's media wing Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), General Raheel Sharif was speaking at the 89th Foundation Day ceremony of China's People's Liberation Army in Islamabad on Thursday.

The army chief termed the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project as the game changer not for only Pakistan but for the entire region, adding that its security was Pakistan Army’s national undertaking.



“[Pakistan] will leave no stone unturned to ensure its timely completion and uninterrupted success,” the ISPR quoted Gen Raheel saying.






Appreciating the Gen Raheel's stance, Chinese officials thanked Pakistan Army for creating the protective environment in order to ensure CPEC’s safety. They also paid gratitude to the troops for wiping out terrorism in and around CPEC region.

The army chief praised PLA’s determination and its unity to complete its task.

“The PLA is most formidable force that reminds power of peoples' unity for which no goal is too high, no distance too long and no task too hard,” said the army chief.
