Anti-corruption watchdog arrests Balochistan's former finance adviser
The country’s top graft-buster had initiated investigations against the former mayor in 2007 and filed a reference against Lehri and others in the accountability court on the basis of ‘irrefutable’ evidence of his misconduct.
The accountability court had issued non-bailable arrest warrants of the accused in the light of ‘irrefutable’ evidence.
After his arrest warrants were issued by the accountability court, Lehri moved the BHC for a transit bail, which was later cancelled, forcing him to make a plea in the Supreme Court. The apex court, however, referred his case to the BHC.
The accountability court has directed the authorities concerned to produce the suspect in court on next hearing of the case on August 9.
