Software stalling issuance of domiciles

ISLAMABAD: Failure to remove the fault in the software has stalled the issuance of computerised domicile in the federal capital for the past three months.

Electronic Government Directorate (EGD) could not attend to the problem in the programme which caters to the processing of documents for the purpose, has led to numerous issues for those who want to get their computerised domicile from the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration.

Earlier, Ministry of Information Technology under its EGD had introduced the software to end the issuance of fake domiciles in the city, but it became defunct and the ministry is yet to repair it.

According to the statistics, as many as 50 to 60 people are applying for the computerised domicile daily in the urban and rural areas of the federal capital, but not a single application could be entertained in this time.
