ISLAMABAD:
A division bench of the Islamabad High Court Wednesday reserved verdict on the maintainability of the petition of a federal minister seeking provision of utility services to his commercial plot.
Federal Minister for Textile Industry Abbas Khan Afridi has filed the suit against the Capital Development Authority (CDA), saying that he had bought a commercial plot in Blue Area last year on 33 years lease for Rs961 million.
The civic agency had assured provision of basic infrastructure facilities to the allottee.
The petitioner’s counsel Khurram Hashmi added that his client stopped payment of further instalments after CDA did not fulfil its promise of providing connections of gas, electricity, road, water and sewerage to the site.
In response to a question, Afridi said that he was ready to submit the remaining instalments if provided with the utilities.
