The announcement was made after a high-level huddle of the party at Bilawal House in Karachi, where Qaim reportedly handed over his resignation to the party’s senior leadership.
“Son of Abdullah Shah, a brave PPP leader who had been the chief minister as well, Murad Ali Shah will replace Qaim Ali Shah now as per the directives of our chairman Bilawal Bhutto,” Adviser to CM on Information Maula Baksh Chandio announced at a late night press conference.
“In a day or two we will announce the entire team Murad will be leading.”
PPP decides to replace Sindh CM Qaim Ali Shah
The decision comes after the PPP decided to make changes in the Sindh cabinet on Sunday during a party meeting in Dubai.
Murad had taken oath of a minister in November 2014 after he was declared an unopposed winner from PS-73 (Jamshoro) in the elections held in the same month.
Previously an adviser to the CM, Murad had surrendered his Canadian citizenship and submitted relevant documents in the court to contest the elections.
