Barcelona wonder boy throws his past behind him with new look for next season

One would think that retiring from international football after consecutive failures would take a toll on the former Argentina captain. And if that wasn’t enough, a 21-month prison sentence for tax evasion would have certainly been the death blow to Lionel Messi’s psychological state.

However, little was known that an Instagram post from the 29-year-old’s partner, Antonella Roccuzzo, would change our perception of the Barcelona star’s woes. Apparently, the wonder boy has now thrown his past behind him with a new look for the upcoming season.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner scored 26 league goals last season to help his side win La Liga, but he failed to lead them to Champions League glory. The Argentine also lost 2016 Copa America final to Chile after missing a spot-kick during the penalty shoot-out.

Yet, despite his rollercoaster life last season, fans continue to support him, but certainly not for his new look.
