Religious freedom: Minorities assured of equal status

PESHAWAR:  

Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra assured minorities from the tribal areas that their grievances would be addressed and they would have complete religious freedom. According to a handout issued on Wednesday, a delegation of the All FATA Social Welfare Minority Organisation called on the governor at his official residence in Peshawar. The minority representatives were led by FATA Minority Organisation President Wilson Wazir and included Gorpal Singh, Gulzar Maseeh, Riaz Maseeh, Pepender Singh, Zaibun Nisa, Areesha Gul and others.  Attaullah Shah, the additional secretary to the governor, was also present on the occasion. The members of the delegation told the governor about the problems and difficulties faced by minorities in the tribal areas. Jhagra assured the representatives that necessary action would be taken to address their grievances and said all minorities of Pakistan have religious freedom and complete security. He also assured they have equal opportunities to progress.
