ABBOTABAD: The Cantonment Board Abbottabad (CBA) allegedly constructed a boundary wall and took possession of the land where Osama Bin Laden was hiding. However, officials of the local administration remained oblivious to the development.

On May 2, 2011, Bin Laden was killed during an operation in the multi-storey building where he had been hiding.

Following the completion of the Abbottabad judicial commission’s investigation, the facility was razed to the ground on February 26, 2012. Subsequently, the provincial government, which was the original owner of land, announced to turn it into a playground.

However, the CBA authorities wanted to allocate the piece of land for a graveyard and attempted twice to construct a boundary wall. However, the local administration restrained them from doing so.

On Monday, the CBA staff forcibly constructed the boundary wall on the land.

“CBA has taken over the plot which will be allocated for the graveyard,” a cantonment board member told The Express Tribune.

When contacted, Abbottabad AC Mir Raza Ozgan expressed his ignorance regarding the development. He said the land was the property of the provincial government.
