ISLAMABAD: The arrival of Nawaz Sharif to the federal capital has seen postponed as the prime minister was indisposed.

“On account of his health, the premier would not be able to make it to the capital even today (Tuesday),” an official handout said.

“PM Nawaz Sharif will not be able to travel from Lahore to Islamabad Tuesday morning due to infection in incisions in his leg. Due to the infection, the prime minister is suffering from fever. The doctors are treating him and he will travel to Islamabad as soon as the fever subsides,” a statement from PM secretariat said.

Insiders at the secretariat told The Express Tribune that security officials and the protocol staff were intimated about his confirmed arrival from Lahore to Islamabad.

Security was put on high alert at the Chaklala Airbase and the land route leading to PM’s House before the instructions were issued to withdraw security measures.
