Busted: Three ‘burglars’ arrested, stolen generators recovered

The police recovered four generators, six laptops, 11 mobile phones and Rs57,820 in cash

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police have arrested three burglars and recovered stolen valuables worth hundreds of thousands of rupees from them.

The Special Investigation Unit arrested the suspects identified as Muhammad Touqeer, Muhammad Nadeem and Yasir, who were wanted to the police in a number of robbery and burglary cases.

The police recovered four generators, seven imported batteries, six laptops, 11 mobile phones, an iPad, a digital camera and Rs57,820 in cash from the robbers.

The police said Touqeer, who was wanted to the police in a theft case, worked as an electrician at a private firm and allegedly stole four generators and seven batteries from the company’s warehouse in G-12 on July 6.

The other two suspects were wanted in three different theft cases.

The police said that the robbers also confessed to stealing two laptops, two mobile phones and Rs7,780 from a private boys’ hostel in Chatta Bakhtawar. A case of the burglary had been registered at the Shahzad Town Police Station.

Another theft case against the two suspects had been registered at the Karachi Company Police Station. Two laptops stolen in this case have also been recovered.

The two were booked in yet another robbery case registered against them at Ramna Police Station, in which two laptops, three mobile phones and Rs50,000 in cash were stolen. The stolen valuables have been recovered from the suspects.

Apart from this, seven other smart phones were also recovered from the suspects.
