A mother’s plea: Police yet to find missing child

Our Correspondent July 18, 2016

ABBOTTABAD: The police have failed to find eight-year-old Sher Khan who went missing over a year ago.

Suriya Bibi, his mother, has been running from pillar to post to ensure her son is found. The dispute arose when Suriya Bibi bought a five-marla plot to construct a house. Haji Gulzar, who claimed to be the real owner of the land, wanted to level the land.

As a result, Gulzar and his accomplices attacked Suriya Bibi and her husband. They went to register an FIR against the assailants at Mirpur police station on July 19, 2015 and left Sher at home.

When they returned, the eight-year-old was nowhere to be found. Locals said Sher was seen with Gulzar’s son, Aftab. The police registered the case following an order from the court but the accused managed to get a bail from the court. Suriya Bibi pins the blame on the incomplete investigation carried out in the case.

The police have also threatened her to dismiss the case but she refused to do so.
