Body count: Five dead as car plunges into canal

CHARSADDA: At least five people died when a truck plunged into a canal near Charsadda on Sunday. An official of Tangi police told The Express Tribune four members of a family died in the incident. The deceased include two children identified as Ayam and Samiullah – and two brothers, Saz Muhammad and Waheed Gul. A labourer also died in the accident. Their bodies were handed over to their loved ones. Separately, a teenage girl drowned in the same canal. The district administration had imposed Section 144 on swimming in Kabul River, Swat. In another incident, a woman and her mother were killed by her cousin. The deceased, identified as Laila, is believed to have been killed over a property dispute.
