DERA GHAZI KHAN: A three-day polio vaccination drive will be launched in Dera Ghazi Khan on July 25. As many as 580,683 children under the age of five years would be vaccinated in the campaign.

A spokesman of the Health Department said on Friday that 1,451 teams had been constituted for this purpose. He said 1,304 teams would go on door-to-door visits while 87 teams had been allotted fixed spots. The spokesman said teams had been directed to ensure hundred percent coverage. “There will be a follow-up campaign in those areas where children could not be vaccinated in the first drive,” he said.

The spokesman said the district administration would provide security cover to the teams. “Police, Elite Force and Baloch Levies will escort the teams during the drive,” he said.
