ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Thursday arrested an official of a housing foundation after the Islamabad High Court (IHC) dismissed his post-arrest bail plea.

The Federal Government Employees Housing Foundation (FGEHF) Assistant Director, Rafaqat Syed, who was on pre-arrest bail, appeared before the court to seek post-arrest bail in a scam involving creation of illegal plots.

When Islamabad High Court judges Aamir Farooq and Mohsin Akhtar Kayani took up the bail plea, the NAB Prosecutor, Adnan Tahir, told the court that the plaintiff had levelled serious allegations against the accused and an investigation from him would lead to further disclosures.

He said that the accused after availing the pre-arrest bail, avoided appearing before the NAB authorities on one or the other pretext for the last three months.

Tahir requested the court to dismiss his post-arrest bail plea.
