
This was said by Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser. He expressed these views while addressing an open forum discussion which was organised by US-Pakistan Centre for Advanced Studies in Energy (USPCAS-E), University of Engineering and Technology Peshawar on Wednesday.
Qaiser lauded the efforts of UET and USPCAS-E to identify problems in the field of energy and proposing solutions. He said the provincial government has declared the USPCAS-E as a think tank on energy.According to the assembly speaker, it should work as advisory board of the apex committee on energy which is headed by Chief Minister Pervez Khattak.

He added the think tank will propose policy recommendations to the committee on energy.
On the occasion, Energy and Power Department Secretary Qazi M Naeem, assured his support to prepare terms of reference. UET Vice Chancellor Dr Iftikhar Hussain said the university is supporting the centre to identify and propose energy solutions.
USPCAS-E Director Dr Najeebullah informed the participants about the recommendations the energy think tank should review. He requested the government to provide land to establish a science park at UET so that process for technology transfer could commence in the province.
