It's not something new, we've all seen it happen and we've all questioned whether we are okay with it. This time it was Victoria Beckham who started the debate when she gave a peck on her daughter's lips on her fifth birthday.
Posh took to Instagram to share an adorable picture of the two sharing a kiss, not knowing that the picture which has received over 5,000 comments would also divide public opinion.

Others weren't so pleased with the act.
Social etiquette expert, Liz Brewer told BBC that although kissing your child on the lips is an unusual practice and many consider it inappropriate, it should completely be a parent's choice.

"Normally with a member of your family you don't kiss on the lips unless it's your husband," she said. "With children, I wouldn't have thought it's a particularly good habit to get into but it's her child and she's at liberty to do what she thinks is best," she said.
"I would be uncomfortable doing that and I think most people would be. If she feels it's appropriate, so be it. I wouldn't say it sets a particularly good example," she added.
