Pakistani-American actor set to star in ‘Hawaii Five-0’

KARACHI: Pakistani-American actor Faran Tahir is set to feature in the upcoming seventh season of popular award-winning American TV series Hawaii Five-0. According to a press release, Tahir will join the sets where shooting will begin mid-July and the show is expected to hit screens in September this year.

Hawaii Five-0 is a reboot of the original series, which aired on CBS from 1968 to 1980. It follows the story of detective Steve McGarrett, a decorated Naval officer-turned-cop, who returns to Oahu to investigate his father’s murder and stays after Hawaii’s governor persuades him to head up a new team on his own terms.

Peter Lenkov, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci are executive producers for CBS Television Studios. The series has been received well by the audiences and critics globally since the first season went on-air. The show has won a number of awards including the Favorite New Drama at the People’s Choice Awards, USA.

Tahir, who has just returned after wrapping up the shoot of the upcoming fifth season of Prison Break (mini-series) said, “The last three months have been fun for me as an actor. I have been shooting for the upcoming Prison Break in Vancouver and then Morocco and now will be heading out to beautiful Hawaii for Hawaii Five-0.”
