Bad luck: Five fall sick after eating chargha 

Health District Officer Gul Ahsan and a police contingent visited the restaurant and inspected the kitchens

DERA GHAZI KHAN: Five people were taken to a hospital in Dera Ghazi Khan with symptoms pointing towards food poisoning on Monday.

They had apparently eaten chicken chargha that had gone bad, doctors told The Express Tribune.

Sajjad Hussain, a resident of Shah Sadaruddin, had bought five chargha leg pieces from a restaurant for his family.

They ate the chicken and started feeling violently sick soon after. Rescue-1122 officials took them to the Dera Ghzi Khan Hospital Trauma Centre for treatment.

Health District Officer Gul Ahsan and a police contingent visited the restaurant and inspected the kitchens. The restaurant owner was fined Rs25,000.

The health DO also sent samples of food to a laboratory for tests. Sajjad Hussain filed a complaint against the restaurant owner with the Civil Lines police.
