Hoist with own petard: Militants planting bomb killed

SHABQADAR: Two unidentified militants were killed in an IED blast in Salarzai, Bajaur Agency. A political administration official confirmed the incident, saying the deceased were planting an IED on Sunday night on the roadside in Dherakai. However, the device went off in their own hands, resulting in the death of both men. Later, security forces cordoned off the area and investigation was under way. Bajaur Agency, which shares a border with Afghanistan, Dir, Malakand Mohmand Agency, has seen a number of blasts targeting security forces, government officials and pro-government tribal elders. The attacks have been claimed by different factions of militant organisations. They occur from time to time despite the fact the area was declared clear of militants.
