PESHAWAR: Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra has termed the death of Abdul Sattar Edhi a great loss for the country and its people. This was mentioned in a handout issued on Sunday. He also announced Rs1 million for Edhi centre in Peshawar.

Awami Workers Party Spokesperson Fazal Raheem Yousufzai paid tribute to the humanitarian in Swabi, saying everyone must follow in his footsteps.

Moreover, three days of mourning was being observed in Parachinar over the demise of Edhi. A programme was also held there to pay tribute to the philanthropist.

The programme was organised by a non-government organisation.
