Corruption: CM suspends seven revenue officials

KARACHI: Taking notice of irregularities in the distribution of fertiliser, seeds and rations among flood survivors, Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah suspended seven revenue officials in flood-hit districts. He gave the directives at a meeting on Thursday.

On a separate note, Shah said that the government will now start providing the remaining Watan card payments of Rs80,000 to each family that was affected by the flood.

A meeting would be convened in Islamabad today (Friday) to discuss the project.

Seven DCOs gave briefings on rehabilitation. They also accused some officials of corruption, after which the CM issued directives to suspend seven revenue officials including six muhktiarkars of Thull, Tangwani, Shikarpur, Dadu, Jacobabad, Khairpur Nathan Shah and Mehar tehsils.

The chief minister asked the DCOs to investigate why officials were delaying the distribution of seed and fertiliser to flood survivors.
