Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba has reached an agreement to play for Spanish giants Real Madrid, according to Sky Sports correspondent Guillem Balague.

Earlier, there were Media reports that United are ready to make a world record bid of almost $176 million (£103 million) after reaching an agreement with Pogba's agent over the proposed transfer, which would lead to shatter the current world transfer record of Gareth Bale from Tottenham Hotspur to Real Madrid for a fee of $146 million (£85 million) in 2013.

On top of the massive fee, United were reportedly also willing to offer £300,000-a-week wage rate to the 23-year-old in order to seek him for a long term period.

However, in a new turn of events, there are now reports emerging that the French international would prefer a move to Santiago Bernabue over Old Trafford.

“Pogba has made it very clear, to Real Madrid anyway, that he would like to be a Real Madrid player this summer," Balague said. "He has had conversations with Zinedine Zidane and he wants to play for Zidane. However, that doesn’t stop his agent, Mino Raiola, from getting other kinds of agreements.

"It has been reported that Manchester United may have a personal agreement with Pogba and it wouldn’t be the first time more than one agreement had been reached.

"In any case, while we’re unsure as to Raiola’s priorities, Pogba’s is to go to Real Madrid. We will have to wait a while to see how this pans out but one thing is certain, both Real Madrid and Manchester United want the player."
