The delegation, headed by Adnan Gondal, had called on Adviser to Chief Minister on Health Khwaja Salman Rafiq and Shah at Civil Secretariat. Maroof Wains, Mehmoodul Hassan and Shabbir Chaudhary were among other members of the delegation.
Shah said the main objective of the induction policy was to uphold merit and transparency in the system. He said it would help overcome the shortage of specialist doctors. He said a comprehensive induction policy was being introduced for postgraduate doctors for the first time. He said that under the policy, doctors would apply online for postgraduate programme.
Shah said hundreds of seats would be created for different specialties. He said the policy would not target anyone and that any speculations in this regard were just propaganda.
Mehmoodul Hassan said the delegation would discuss salient features of the policy with their colleagues.
King Edward Medical University Vice Chancellor Faisal Masood, Fatima Jinnah Medical University VC Sardar Fakhar Imam, Allama Iqbal Medical College Principal Mehmood Shaukat and officers from the Health Department were also present on the occasion.
