PESHAWAR: An Afghan national was gunned down by unidentified people on Canal Road within the jurisdiction of Tehkal police station on Saturday night. He has been identified as Qari Syed Murad. A police official told journalists Murad had enemies in Afghanistan. As a result, he and his family had fled the country and settled in Pakistan. The official added one of Murad’s brothers was also killed by his opponents in Afghanistan in 2015. “Murad was killed by his opponents due to a personal enmity,” the official said.  His family has registered an FIR against the incident.
