For Safety: Nazims demand ban on illegal weapons

District nazim Himaytullah Mayar and naib nazim Asad Ali Kashmiri have urged the government to confiscate weapons from people in the province, especially in Mardan. “Thousands have lost their lives due to illegal arms in K-P,” Mayar said at a news conference at Mardan Press Club on Saturday. “The public representatives will protest outside the Parliament if their demands are not heard and implemented.” The nazim and naib nazim have also asked the government to make amendments in the arms ordinance so that anybody who violates the law could be penalised to death. He further demanded the federal government steps in the matter and put a ban of illegal weapons otherwise the district council would legislate for that and protest outside the provincial assembly building and Parliament House in Islamabad.
