Towards stability Football tournament held in Khyber Agency

JAMRUD: A football match was held between Khyber Green and Young Jamrud in Jamrud Sports Complex ground on Friday.

This was the first night tournament of its kind that was organised by the political agent of Khyber Agency. At least 24 teams from various parts of Khyber Agency participated in the tournament.

The match was won by Khyber Green who defeated Young Jamrud by two goals on penalty kicks. Both the teams could not score any goals during the first and second half of the match. As a result, the match was decided through penalty kicks.

While speaking at the event, Khyber Agency Political Agent Captain (retd) Khalid Mehmood said the tournament serves as welcome proof that the people of the tribal belt are peace-loving individuals.

He also lauded the efforts of the security forces in restoring peace and stability to the region. The match was attended by hundreds of spectators.

On this occasion, Mehmood awarded cash prizes of Rs50,000 to the winning team and Rs30,000 to the runner-up team.
