PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court suspended a notification to hand over 42 schools to Charsadda district government and sought replies from the chief secretary, FATA Secretariat additional chief secretary and the schools secretary.

A division bench, headed by Justice Nisar Hussain, was hearing a writ petition on Thursday.

The petition was filed by Ali Haider through his counsel Ijaz Khan Sabi. The bench was told the schools were located in disputed villages of Mohmand Agency.

The counsel said the government has issued a notification whereby 42 schools were handed over to the Charsadda district administration. According to Sabi, the notification did not shed light on transfers and postings and other rules and regulations. He said the government should explain these important aspects and requested the bench to suspend the notification.
