CHITRAL: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairperson Imran Khan has accused the federal government of adopting a discriminatory attitude towards Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

Speaking during a two-day visit to Chitral to inaugurate a powerhouse in Dorghal, Imran said K-P is facing financial problems due to decrease in fund allocation.

K-P finance minister says no funds left to spend

“K-P finances rehabilitation and infrastructural development projects in the district solely on its own resources,” the PTI chief said.

“Earthquakes and floods have displaced half of the population in the region.”  He added Rs16 billion is needed for the rehabilitation process and restoration of quake-affected houses.

Last month, Minister for Finance Muzaffar Said pointed out Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa had been widely criticised in the media for not spending development budgets. However, he contended this was not the case.

Stori Da Pakhtunkhwa funds finally released

He explained the province had spent the development budgets, but the federal government was yet to provide around Rs70 billion.

“We are embarrassed to tell the public the province has no more funds to spend as the federal government failed to provide billions.”

Malik Saab | 8 years ago | Reply @A J Khan: Shame on the people like you. Many of you live in Punjab but abuse the locals, make fun of locals and then try to limit the success of local parties. In my view All Parties of KP are infact the most racist and Pushtoon centric parties.
