Motive unknown: Man gunned down in DI Khan

DI KHAN: A man was gunned down by a group of assailants in DI Khan on Wednesday.

An official of Saddar police station confirmed the incident, saying the deceased has been identified as 45-year-old Nawaz Khan.

Speaking to The Express Tribune, the official said unidentified men attacked Nawaz near Gomal-Khur link road. As a result, he was critically wounded

Following the incident, the police reached the site and rushed Nawaz to the hospital. The 45-year-old succumbed to his injuries on the way.

A case was registered against the incident at Saddar police station.

The deceased was a resident of Gomal, Tank.

Security has been tightened in DI Khan ahead of Eidul Fitr to avoid any untoward incidents.

Police check posts have been set up at 34 points across the city to ensure strict vigilance. CNICs of all residents passing through these check posts will be checked.
