KARACHI: The revived defunct Karachi Development Authority (KDA) announced to take active part in monsoon preparations in the city along with other civic agencies. KDA director-general Syed Nasir Abbas has ordered its engineering department to remain active in all KDA’s schemes during monsoon rains to deal with any emergency situation. While addressing a meeting on Thursday, he also ordered to setup a rain emergency centre at Civic Centre. He asked the employees to work with the staff of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC). There are areas in Karachi, such as Korangi and few places in Malir, which fall under the jurisdiction of the KDA, he told The Express Tribune. However, when questioned regarding overlapping of functions with the KMC, he assured that it won’t happen.
