The Peshawar High Court has issued a notice to the counter-terrorism department (CTD) and sought a reply in a case involving the disappearance of an MPhil student from Swabi district.
The bench, headed by Peshawar High Court Chief Justice Mazhar Alam Miankhel, was hearing a writ petition on Thursday. The petition was filed by Siyahosh through his counsel Mukhtiar Ahmad. The court was informed that the petitioner’s son was picked by CTD from Swabi.
Mukhtiar said he was released on bail by an anti-terrorism court in Mardan. However, CTD arrested him once again for possessing explosives. The man was booked under the anti-terrorism act, but managed to obtain bail yet again.

According to the counsel, the petitioner, after depositing surety bonds, arrived at the jail to collect his son. He was told at the jail that the suspect had been released before his arrival.
“He never made it home and has been missing since,” he informed the bench. “The petitioners believe he was picked up [once] again.”
The petitioner appeared before the bench and said he received a phone call late at night a week ago. The caller asked him for a meeting. During the meeting, he told Siyahosh that his son was at the CTD police station in DI Khan.
After hearing the arguments, the bench issued notices to the provincial government and DI Khan CTD.
