If you are afraid that someone could hack into your computer and use your webcam and mic to spy on you, then you are not alone.

One of the most powerful men on the planet, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, also has similar fears.

Recently, Zuckerberg posted a photo of himself on his Facebook page, celebrating Instagram reaching 500 million monthly users.

Soon after he posted the picture, Twitter user Chris Olson observed that Zuckerberg's webcam and microphone jack appeared to be covered in tape. It seems the Facebook CEO is paranoid enough about hackers that he went an extra mile to ensure security.

Given the fact that billions of people of have entrusted him with their personal data, it is justifiable for him to be paranoid.

Mark Zuckerberg's social media accounts hacked

Earlier this month, Facebook founder’s accounts on several social networking sites including, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn and Pinterest, were briefly hacked on Sunday.

Gizmodo pointed out that the desk does appear to be Zuckerberg's as the same setup was shown in a Facebook Live video last year.

However, he is not only high-profile person to do this. In April, FBI Director James Comey said he also cover his laptop’s webcam with tape. "I saw something in the news, so I copied it. I put a piece of tape — I have obviously a laptop, personal laptop — I put a piece of tape over the camera. Because I saw somebody smarter than I am had a piece of tape over their camera," Comey told NPR.
