Such a model is in vogue in India, European countries and other parts of the world, said PIE Chairman SM Tanveer, while addressing a function on Tuesday, hosted in the honour of outgoing chief executive officer of PIE, Gen (R) Tariq Javed for the services rendered to the Estate.
The chairman said that during the last ten months, additional revenue of Rs350 million had been generated, which would be spent on building of industrial infrastructure of new projects being launched by PIE, including setting up of Bhalwal and Rahim Yar Khan industrial estates, without government funding.
Earlier, the new CEO of PIE, Gen (R) Javed Iqbal informed the number of industrial units in production had reached to 108 while 254 factory owners had been given legal undertaking to build their units in the next 12 to 18 months in SIE.
