On judicial remand: Suspected rapist sent behind bars 

On June 17, he stayed over at the victim’s house, where the police said, he raped the woman

ISLAMABAD: Police have arrested a 51-year-old man for allegedly raping a woman in Jhangi Syedan area within the jurisdiction of Noon Police Station.

Meer Afzal, the suspect, was arrested on Saturday after he allegedly raped a 25-year-old woman*.

A police official told The Express Tribune that Afzal had work relationship with the victim’s brother*.

On June 17, he stayed over at the victim’s house, where the police said, he raped the woman.

He said the family caught him and handed him over to the police. Police produced the suspect before a judicial magistrate on Sunday, who sent him on 14-day judicial remand.

Meanwhile, Aabpara police have also booked a man for allegedly teasing and harassing a girl in Sector G-6/2. The suspect was identified as Shahzad.
