Curbing crime: Police raid gambling den,arrest 14 suspects  

The police apprehended the factory owner, sealed the factory and registered a case against the accused

SUKKUR: Fourteen alleged gamblers were arrested during a raid on a gambling den near Numaish Ground on Saturday night, while the police also raided a factory in SITE area where spurious spices were allegedly being prepared and packed.

During the raid on the gambling den, 14 suspects, including three policemen, were taken into custody. Three motorcycles, Rs50,000 in cash and 14 mobile phones were also recovered. The arrested policemen were identified as Haq Nawaz, Allah Dino and Roshan. The other suspects included Nazoo Kalhoro, Muhammad Nawaz alias Papu Mahar, Nadeem Mughal and Niaz Kharoos. An FIR has been registered against them.

Sukkur ASP Muhammad Kaleem Malik and his team raided a factory in Golimar, where toxic ingredients were allegedly used to prepare spices. The police apprehended the factory owner, sealed the factory and registered a case against the accused.
