Awami National Party Senator Ilyas Bilour expressed his concern over the commercialisation of plots in the Hayatabad Industrial Estate and other such areas. He said the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Economic Zone Development and Management Company failed to promote Uzbek-led development of industries in the region. He added billions of rupees were being spent on the payment of salaries and other concessions, but the government failed to improve industries. He slammed the government for transferred its responsibilities to other organisations and wasting billions in making “fictitious” organisations such as the KPEZDMC. He said almost 66% of industries were already closed and the government, with its strict policies, was creating barriers for interested investors.
